Wellington is one of the most beautiful villages in Southern Florida; due in no small part to its close and caring community. While Wellington started out as the world’s largest strawberry patch (it’s true!), it has grown into Florida’s most populous village and supports a vibrant equestrian community and a serious dedication to the arts and the culture of its community.
Wellington is a perfect place for residents and visitors to hold an event. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, wedding, company outing or other life event, you’ll find the right fit somewhere in Wellington. You don’t have to love horses to relish the beautiful grounds of both the International Polo Club Palm Beach or the Palm Beach Polo Golf and Polo Club. You can also take advantage of the many parks and community centers around Wellington including the Wellington Amphitheater, Scott’s Place Park, Tiger Shark Cove Park, Village Park and the Wellington Library.
Of course, Wellington is also home to some world class dining options like Oli’s Fashion Cuisine, Stonewood Grill and Tavern, The Player’s Club Restaurant, Franco Italian Bistro, The Grille, Sushi Moto Asian, and the White Horse Fashion Cuisine.
Planning any event is a serious undertaking. Finding the right venue is only the first step. Here are our tips and advice for planning a great event in Wellington, FL:
Tip #1: Know the Area
If you already live in Wellington, we’re sure that you know what a wonderful place it is. However, if you’re an “out of villager” planning on visiting Wellington, take a moment to learn about it and all it has to offer! Of course, you can visit the Wellington City Page, but for more personal advice from people who really know the area, contact a Realtor like Michelle Gibson. No one knows a town, city or village like the people who help families find their homes there. They’ll be able to help you understand Wellington like no one else.
Tip #2: Know the Details
This may sound obvious, but you’d be surprised how many people skip the details. It’s most important to know how many people are attending your event and what type of event it is. From there, you can figure out everything else, including which venue is the best for you and your guests.
Tip #3: Pick the Right Venue
We can’t be sure, but we’d guess that you don’t want to throw your dream wedding in the Wellington Library, but the Palm Beach Golf and Polo Club would be perfect! However, the Palm Beach Golf and Polo Club may not be the best place for an arts and crafts fair or an organizational fundraiser but the Wellington Amphitheater would be perfect. Know what you want to accomplish with your event and pick the right place for it.
Tip #4: Consider Professional Help
Unless you’re already a professional wedding or event planner, chances are that you don’t have too much experience planning a big party. No matter what the event, it can take a lot of time and energy to get right. Most people don’t realize that it doesn’t end with picking a venue and finding a caterer. Again, it’s the details like renting tables, chairs and linens. If it’s an outdoor event, you’ll want a tent (especially with the wild weather swings in South Florida). If you don’t hire a planner, make sure that you use tools like EviRental.com that allow you to get quotes from multiple party rental vendors while saving time and your sanity! But if it is within your budget, consider hiring someone who has experience planning events. You’ll be thankful that you did!
Tip #5: Have Fun
Whatever your event, always remember to have fun. Life is full of moments that call for celebration. You’ve chosen Wellington to be the place where you enjoy those moments. We know that you’ll never want to choose anywhere else!
